Summer is the time for outdoor parasols, colorful outdoor umbrellas, can you really shade? How to measure the shading effect of parasols?
There is often a special English abbreviation UPF in the quality inspection of umbrellas. UPF is the abbreviation of English Ultraviolet ProfectionFactor, which is the UV protection factor.
According to the definition in the national standard, UPF refers to the ratio of the average effect of ultraviolet radiation calculated when the skin is unprotected to the average effect of ultraviolet radiation calculated when the skin is protected by the fabric. However, this definition is more abstract and can be understood in this way. Physical meaning, such as a UPF value of 50, means that 1/50 of the UV light can pass through the fabric.
The higher the UPF value, the better the UV protection. However, the highest UPF value for textiles in the national standard is 50+, which is UPF>50. Because the UPF is greater than 50, the impact on the human body is completely negligible.
The Standards for the Evaluation of UV Protection of Textiles promulgated by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine provides:
A, only when the sample's UPF value is greater than 30, and the UVA transmittance is less than 5%, can be called "anti-UV products", these two conditions are indispensable. This is an indicator of whether a product is an "anti-UV product".
B, UV protection products should be marked with three aspects on the label:
1. Number of national standard; GB/TI 88302
2, UPF value
3. 30+, or 50+
If the measured value of UPF is greater than 30 and the transmittance of UVA is less than 5%, the label is: 30+;
If the measured value of UPF is greater than 50 and the transmittance of UVA is less than 5%, the label is: 50+3;
The protective properties offered by this product may be reduced during long-term use and in the case of stretching or moisture.
